CSA’s Nashville office is looking for a structural engineer to add to the team. We are a growing office looking for service-minded engineers to grow with us. Ideally, the candidate must be able to think creatively and be able to apply structural engineering principles to a variety of problems. Job Requirements:

  • 3 – 5 years of experience in structural engineering and consulting
  • BSCE in Civil Engineering
  • MSCE in Structural Engineering Preferred
  • Professional Engineer License or able to obtain licensure within 2 years
  • Experience with Revit is strongly preferred
  • Experience with 3D structural modeling and design software preferred

The ideal candidate should be a self-starter who takes initiative. They seek to come to their own conclusions to engineering problems but are willing and open to collaborate with others. They should have knowledge of designing with various building materials including steel, concrete, masonry, and wood. If not licensed, the candidate must be able to sit for the exam within a reasonable time. The candidate must have a strong understanding of applied engineering calculations, must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and must have a team-oriented attitude. The engineer shall be responsible for creating complete construction document and specification packages. The engineer will self-perform the drafting and modeling using Revit on all projects.

Candidates must also be proficient with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Experience using the RISA or RAM suite of programs is preferred. CSA produces 3D models and utilizes Revit on all of our structural projects. Therefore, if candidates are not familiar with Revit, they must be willing to learn and are expected to become proficient with the software in a timely manner. In addition to structural design and detailing, the structural engineer will be expected to perform job site visits and write investigation/assessment reports on a periodic basis as needed. Finally, the structural engineer will be expected to maintain and foster relationships with existing clients on any projects they have been assigned which includes meeting all client requirements and deadlines.

CSA is currently seeking a full time Structural Engineer to work in our Memphis office.

Job duties for this position will include structural engineering design, consulting, and detailing for building projects of all types. The candidate should have knowledge of designing with various building materials including steel, concrete, masonry, wood, heavy timber, and light gauge steel. They will also be responsible for creating complete construction document and specification packages. The candidate will either lead structural drafters or self-perform the drafting and modeling using Autodesk Revit on all projects. In addition to structural design and detailing, they will be expected to perform field inspections, job site visits, and inspection reports on a periodic basis as needed. Lastly, the structural engineer will be expected to maintain and foster relationships with existing clients on any projects they have been assigned which includes meeting all client requirements and deadlines.

Job Requirements:

  • 3 – 8 years of experience in structural engineering and consulting.
  • BSCE in Civil Engineering
  • MSCE in Structural Engineering Preferred
  • EIT Certification a minimum
  • Professional Engineer License in the State of Tennessee preferred
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Autodesk Revit is strongly preferred
  • Experience with 3D structural modeling and design software preferred

The selected candidate must have a strong understanding of applied engineering calculations, must have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and must have a team oriented attitude. Candidates must also be proficient with Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, and Outlook. Experience using structural design software such as RAM, Risa 3D, GTStrudl, and Enercalc is preferred. CSA produces 3D models and utilizes Revit on all of our structural projects. Therefore, if candidates are not familiar with Revit, they must be willing to become proficient with the software in a timely manner.

Candidate must also have experience utilizing the following structural codes:

ASCE7, AISC 360, AISC 341, ACI 318, ACI 530, AISI S100, and the family of codes from the International Codes Council (IBC, IEBC, & IRC).
